In an area where it’s almost impossible to receive entitlements, WREG was able to gain approval to turn a parking lot and small office building into 20 luxurious condominiums and a hotel with 190 suites and two rooftop pools. Located in the heart of West Hollywood at the famed corner of Sunset Boulevard and Doheny Drive, this project received so much interest from other developers that rather than constructing it themselves, WREG sold it to Marriott in 2012. With this purchase Marriott plans to open its first Los Angeles-based edition hotel; a new high-end brand which targets only the most desirable locations in the world. Construction is projected to begin in the second quarter of 2018 at a cost of well over $250m.
